Excluded from
society? Man is the result of the images he has
seen. A classification that is characterized by
the feeling of disregard, political alienation,
the existing lack of respect. Man is born
of nothing, a feeling, a coincidence, out of
someone's mind...
As an outlet for frustration, there were always
loud discussions in the family. However, there
was no secrecy or fear of contact. At that
point, I had no idea that these stories would
catch up with me. In over 20 years I have
learned to hate Lower Saxony and its mentality.
Nothing remains but lost years. Hypocrisy and
corruption have spread like cancer. There is now
like a wall between what I have taught and the
lack of reflection.
Technology that once excited me has become an enemy. The excess and mishandling of the so-called possibilities does not bring to light what I originally perceived as important, most people are unable to dissect it.
The family owned the house in Ruhrort, Karlstr 32 debt-free. Right next to the famous Stagecoach pub/restaurant. Our immediate neighbors included the Schumacher family (stagecoach) and the Missing family (piano maker). My mother worked as a stenographer at the district court and got divorced in 1966. My father was a boatman and was never at home. In the eyes of the family he was a drifter and so I can only remember a few days of his active presence. After the divorce, my mother moved with Hans Boshoven to Dammstr.22, directly opposite the Damm House. Boshoven was 30 years older than her and was well known among shipowners and private individuals. He sold his two patents through Eisen-Ruhstein, a company in the shipping supply industry.
Life in Ruhrort was always very busy, there was enough
work and there were no shortages. Nevertheless, there
was a certain basic skepticism in the family, which
often led to heated arguments. My mother Eva and her
brother Horst nourished themselves intellectually on an
Americanized lifestyle and were firmly in the grip of
Hollywood productions. I was also sent to the Sunday
screening at the Lichtburg cinema, where “James Bond”
was on.
How did the traders, fishermen, livestock, fruit, vegetable and grain farmers, to whom the Rhine provided such a rich harvest, feel 200 years ago? I literally absorbed the knowledge of these stories and i had a hard but good teacher.
Unbridled materialism prevailed and everyone from this milieu had to pay its toll. My ability to experience tragedy is perhaps due to the many funerals and the center of events was always some inn, Dammhaus, Ruhrorter Hof, Zur Rheinbrücke or Deutsches Haus. Not only was alcohol consumed in excess every day, but daily meals were also eaten there and in the evening you had to make do with a cold schnitzel or meatballs. These biochemical chain reactions, contrary to all logic and the moral loss that seemed like a suicide.

For many years my playground was just a narrow path. Having arrived in the now and with the new prayer wheel, digitalization is the focus. Just the word “digitality” and the connection between “digital” and “reality” or “materiality” make me angry. computer and visual programs supplemented my everyday

The Symbiotic Photo Series 1983 "The last wire".
Germany is and was no place for artistic realization. Especially not if it has developed beyond standards. The faculties dealt with administrative tasks and multimedia was never developed without influence. It was therefore controlled by groups that never acquired in-depth knowledge. Even though I worked every day of my life, I remained as poor as a beggar, and who has an interest in reality?
Like many of you, I also attended a college. A school for social education, I wanted to become a social street worker. We still had the old post-war teachers, represented by Ms. Paterka (mathematics and physics), Prof. Schneller (chemistry), Ms. Vierle (Art, German/English) and Ms. Daude (biology and hygiene). Who came up with the idea of propping up his head was sometimes expelled from class.
